Gold Medal Matches Today

The US Senior Men's Basketball Team LOST to Argentina. Manu Ginobili showed them the way down. wachaaa!!! What can I say? I think they deserve it, what with their gargantuan egos marching around as if they own the place. Iverson and his cohorts fell to the mighty Argentines 81-89! Go Ginobili!!!

on the other hand, i really expected Lithuania to win out this games. but surprise surprise! Italy beat them 100-91 with incredible three point shooting..

the women's medal matches are tonight (philippine time). i'm torn about how i will be able to follow it. damn stupid local tv. damn stupid nbn. they show too much stupid sports on air. last time i checked it was still tae kwon do airing although i have no idea if we were still on the competition. they just prolly packed their bags right after the first preliminary matches. don't get me wrong, we got incredible athletes, we just don't have the funds and whatever it is we need to train champions. lalo na when they give money to the athlete when he/she already wins. gwakanang...kung kelan tapos na dun magbibigay ng pera.

fine fine. i might grumble all i want but this still wouldn't change the state of financial thingamajiggy in this country. too many corrupt officials stealing the peoples' money. too many of those and people still wonder why we're not advancing. politics is not my strong suit and i'll. stop. right. now. baka mabadtrip lang ako. wachaa!

and oh, i hate it when they show reruns of other sports when they could have shown the women's games! no women's soccer gold medal match, no women's basketball ball games yet. God, how i hate NBN.

Gold Medal Match: USA-Aus

wacha! it's Lauren Jackson (Seattle Storm) versus Lisa Leslie (LA Sporks) once again as they Australian Opals and the USA Senior Women's Team battle it out tonight (local time) for the GOLD! I don't know who i'm cheering for. Team USA doesn't use birdy at all during the last game. might be because Dawny (Dawn Staley) is still there and well, she's gotta be good. Swin Cash was benched too and Ruth Riley also. Now I think I might wanna cheer for the Aussies on this one coz I know LJ would definitely play more than 30 minutes out there.

My gosh, i can't believe i actually used La Diva's true name above. wachaaa. i really wonder if she's gonna wear HAIR EXTENSIONS tonight like in Sydney four years ago. don't ask me why. i never did get it for the life of me. there was this inciden though, that LJ (apparently just 19 then) accidentally pulled La Diva's hair extensions and i could just imagine the chagrin in the Prancing Pony's face. grrr... i'm sure that was so priceless. tood bad she had to ruin the priceless moment by saying "you keep the hair, i keep the gold." puzzanggalaaaa, i wish you trip with your own shoelaces missy. i'm definitely going all out support for the SEATTLE STORM when they play against the eeew Sporks.

Go LJ! Go OPALS!

Go Birdy! Go Swin! Go Riley!

ps. i just totally love the fact that Swin and Riley beat the Sporks last season in the W. belat nga sa yo, La Diva.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: wachaaaa!

Pau Gasol, Tim Duncan

the US MEN won last night (night dito wachaa!) against Spain. i had to endure my mother's constant prodding to change the channel (she wanted to watch that darn maalaala mo kaya episode featuring isko moreno's story). i caught snippets of the game and my goodness, PAU GASOL was just so dominating near the basket. too bad for him coz STEPHON MARBURY upped his game and shot his threes. Marbury finished up with 31 points as US beat SPAIN 102-94

Pee Wee Johnson

on the women's side, USA silenced a mighty Greek crowd as they snuffed them out 102-72. SHANNON (PEE WEE) JOHNSON provided the scoring spark. The 5-foot-7 guard who goes by the nickname Pee Wee scored 21 points and the United States stormed into the semifinals with a 102-72 victory over Greece, which had heart, the home court and little else.

Kerry Walsh and Misty May

BEACH VOLLEYBALL, i caught the GOLD MEDAL MATCH between the women, BRAZIL (Adriana Behar and Shelda Bede) AND USA (Misty May and Kerry Walsh). my gosh, i still remember their name. haha. anyway, May and Walsh pretty much dominated the brazilians, crushing them in two straight sets. Walsh was just astonishing, getting points from her kill-blocks. amazing.

the BRONZE MEDAL MATCH was more dramatic as HOLLY MCPEAK and ELAINE YOUNGS won over Australia's NATALIE COOK and SANDERSON (sorry i can't remember her first name). the USA girls won over three sets as they took advantage of COOK's shoulder injury. there were even times that Cook had to serve underhand (a rare occurence in pro beach vball , rarer in olympic history). she was so pained you could see her grimace through hits. she gave a valiant effort with her digs of course and Sanderson tried to up her game to compensate but the US just directed the first ball almost always to Cook.

Elaine Youngs and Holly McPeak celebrate after winning the Bronze

Natalie Cook

Abby Wambach and Heather O'Reilly

after they snuffed out Germany in the semifinals (2-1 OT), the USA Senior Women's Soccer Team got the gold away from Brazil (2-1 OT). ABBY WAMBACH, the player who might break MIA HAMM's records one day, scored the game-winning goal in the 112th minute with a powerful 10-yard header off a corner kick from KRISTINE LILLY. It was Wambach's fourth goal of the Athens Games and 18th in her last 20 games. ...more...

this must be the place

Home is where I want to be
Pick me up and turn me round
I feel numb - burn with a weak heart
(So I) guess I must be having fun
The less we say about it the better
Make it up as we go along
Feet on the ground
Head in the sky
It's ok I know nothing's wrong . . nothing

Hi yo I got plenty of time
Hi yo you got light in your eyes
And you're standing here beside me
I love the passing of time
Never for money
Always for love
Cover up + say goodnight . . . say goodnight

Home - is where I want to be
But I guess I'm already there
I come home - -she lifted up her wings
Guess that this must be the place
I can't tell one from another
Did I find you, or you find me?
There was a time Before we were born
If someone asks, this where I'll be . . . where I'll be

Hi yo We drift in and out
Hi yo sing into my mouth
Out of all tose kinds of people
You got a face with a view
I'm just an animal looking for a home
Share the same space for a minute or two
And you love me till my heart stops
Love me till I'm dead
Eyes that light up, eyes look through you
Cover up the blank spots
Hit me on the head Ah ooh

-the talking heads.

I Could Not Ask for More - Edwin McCain

Lying here with you,
Listening to the rain,
Smiling just to see,
The smile upon your face,
These are the moments,
I thank God that I'm alive,
These are the moments,
I'll remember all my life,
I found all I've waited for,
And I could not ask for more.
Looking in your eyes,
Seeing all I need,
Everything you are,
Is everything to me,
These are the moments,
I know heaven must exist,
These are the moments,
I know all I need is this,
I have all I've waited for,
And I could not ask for more.

Chorus:
I could not ask for more than this time together,
I could not ask for more than this time with you,
Every prayer has been answered,
Every dream I have's come true,
Yeah right here in this moment,
Is right where I'm meant to be,
Here with you, Here with me. . .

These are the moments,
I thank God that I'm alive,
These are the moments,
I'll remember all my life,
I've got all I've waited for,
And I could not ask for more. . .

Chorus:
I could not ask for more than this time together,
I could not ask for more than this time with you,
Every prayer has been answered,
Every dream I have's come true,
And right here in this moment,
Is right where I'm meant to be,
Here with you, Here with me. . .

I could not ask for more than the love you give me,
Cause it's all I've waited for . . .
And I could not ask for more,
I could not ask for more

Storm Sizzle in Pre-Break Finale

Lauren Jackson scored 25 points and Sue Bird added 16 as Seattle slammed Charlotte 87-55 Sunday at KeyArena. The Storm (17-8) enter the monthlong Olympic break with the second-best record in the WNBA. They return to action Sept. 1 at home vs. Sacramento.

something to say to my walking diary,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dude! tanda mo na rin. legal age ka na hahaha!

suspended na ulit ang war. sa march na natin itutuloy (kelan na nga nagsimula yang war na yan? hehehe).
